    Employment partner appointed as Non-Executive Director at King’s College Hospital

    Marc Meryon has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director for King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He is currently a partner with top 100 law firm Bircham Dyson Bell, where he leads the Industrial Relations Group within the firm’s wider Employment Team. Qualifying as a solicitor in 1991 Meryon joined Bircham Dyson Bell in 2007 from Kennedys where he was a partner and Head of Employment Law.

    Bircham Dyson Bell announces new Senior Partner

    Bircham Dyson Bell has announced John Stephenson as the firm’s Senior Partner with effect from 1st June 2010. He succeeds Ian McCulloch who has been in the role for the past 13 years. Stephenson is a partner in the Real Estate Department and heads the Residential and Leasehold Reform Group.

    BA v Unite the Union: the end of the road for strike injunctions?

    Some commentators have seized on remarks made by the Court of Appeal judges last week to proclaim a new era of industrial relations law in which employers can no longer use technical breaches of the law to stop industrial action.

    The judgment may have created a slightly more chilly climate for employers contemplating mounting a challenge to strike action; but our analysis is that little seems to have changed as a result of the Court of Appeal ruling.

    Top award for leading charity team
